Wedge  Prism

Wedge  Prism

Product description:

Wedge prisms typically deflect a light beam by a small angle and can therefore be used to isolate different physical environments and deflect the back reflection to a different direction.

This prism angle is usually no more than 10 degrees. Refraction at the surfaces causes the prism to deflect light by a fixed angle. When viewing a scene through such a prism, objects will appear to be offset by an amount that varies with their distance from the prism.

Photonchina’s wedge prisms,as well as round wedge prisms, are ideal for laser beam steering applications. Also known as Risley prisms, these optics deflect a beam normal to the prism’s perpendicular surface through an angular deviation ranging from 2° to 10°. They can be used individually or in combination with another wedge prism for beam steering, with uncoated or coated. In this case, rotating one wedge in relation to the other will change the direction of the beam. The angle of the refracted beam becomes greater when the wedges angle in the same direction. When the wedges are rotated to angle in opposite directions, they cancel each other out, and the beam is allowed to pass straight through.

Glass material of N-BK7 (Schott) / H-K9L(CDGM),N-SF11 are typically used in production of wedge prisms. However, other materials are also available for some applications designated. With the rich experience in producing these prisms and the help of high precision equipment both in making and inspection, Photonchina, as the top-ranked supplier, has been satisfying customers worldwide for more than decades.
