In some optical systems, linearly polarized light is out of favor. For instance, polarized light in the reflective spectrometers, where polarization effects can affect the sensitivity of the detector. Depolarizer is used to convert polarized light into non polarized light, and therefore plays a role in polarization sensitive systems and instruments.
The usual depolarizer often functions at narrow band wavelength to avoid the big beam deviation. With special design of engineers, Photonchina’s depolarizer has an excellent performance in a wide range of wavelength and keep the beam deviation in an acceptable range.
We can get better result if we orient the input polarization state 45deg to the optical axis of the depolarizer. And the effectiveness of the depolarizer increases with the size of the beam cross-section.
