What is Plano-concave lens?
These lenses are thicker at the edge than in the centre and flat on one side and are used to expand light beams or to increase focal lengths in optical systems. They are often employed for beam expansion of high peak power pulsed lasers. A beam incident on a concave surface will be focused to a point outside the instrument.
Manufacture of Plano-concave lens
As a professional supplier of lenses in China, Photonchina has produced both standard types and custom plano-concave lenses for decades. We have a great deal of experience in production and also exert stringent quality control for the whole fabrication process below,
- First cut of glass blank into shape.
- Grinding that improves the surface and shape.
- Polishing where should be the last fine grinding stage to put the surface and shape of lenses into specification.
- Centering the optics and the bevels are put on the edges.
- Optical coating.
